It's crap, plain and simple. If you're looking for challenge...do ToPK with 4 people. It's the same thing, except you also get a reward. Note that a reward is not necessary all the time, but there has to be SOMETHING to justify doing this quest. It doesn't even advance a story, because it's endlessly repeatable. At this moment, 50 orbs are worthless, plain and simple. You only need 10 extra after doing the 4 quests, and it's really bloody easy to get those 10.
Furthermore, people who don't frequent forums are going to be even more ticked off at this, becuase it's so much harder than the other quests...yet gives a worse and arguably worthless reward. People will feel like they've in effect wasted an hour (or more, depending on how many times they failed) of game time.
This is an undefendable screw up. There is absolutely no redeeming quality to this "mission". I'm normally one to attack excess negativity, but in this case, y'all need to get your heads out of your (or ANet's) collective asses and see that this was a mistake, unless the entire community is missing something, OR ANet manages to correct it later on by adding something else that ties in with it.

This post completely supports my point. Let's complain about the mission being "lame" and "worthless" before anyone even knows what's going on. No one knows what ANet has in store for us. It may be part of something bigger or it may not. So let's complain about the rewards that come from it! Sounds like a great idea! Let's all not forget about another "lame" and "worthless" Rujiyo quest that takes place in Jaya Bluffs. ANet really screwed up by giving us another one. <insert rolling eyes smiley here>
-Tom
EDIT: Does anyone actually appreciate the things that ANet does for the players in this game? How many companies actually give a crap about what the players want, let alone give them the chance to participate in improving the game? I think most players take for granted the things that ANet does for them.

I was one of the first to finish this on american servers with a guild group.
We saw the announcment and we went in guild chat: LF 1 Warrior, 1 Ele, 1 necro, 1 Monk.
Ran 1 War with stances and some dmg.
Nuker Ele with flare
BiP Necro with some dmg
Boon prot
Needless to say, we finished it first entry, too bad it sucks as the prize.

Wut? The Haiju Lagoon mission is replaced by this new Jaya Bluffs one? I only just logged on, so I didn't get to do Haiju, I just spoke to Rujiyo and he sent me to Jaya Bluffs.

Which leads me to believe that all of this can't be for a larger prize.Since they would have given us a game update about it AND they would have given us at least 24 hours tops.

Rujiyo's name underneath him won't disappear. Click on anyone, anything else, it's still there. Is this something completely new or has it been like that with other NPCs in the game too?

No..the name of NPC's that have quests always stay up, and since its a repeatable quest his name always stays up.

Darn, my messie died. I was well on my way to a survivor title and suddenly Anet sends a lvl 28 goon squad at me. There should be some kind of warning on what about you are to expect. Lvl 28 monsters on noob island is not cool, and for what?
Oh well. Back to the drawing board for a new survivor messy :P

Come to think about it I remember seeing Caption Rujiyo talking in the chat window while working on my unlucky track title, a few hours later he’s no longer talking I haven’t done the quest at all.
Been surfing the web and reading posts here, but from what I have read I don’t have a need to do the quest or quests for 50 to 100 more orbs that I don’t need.

there was a cool little transition lore when the missions switched over. a guard ran up to rujiyo and they had a huge conversation about the enemy pushing forward into jaya bluffs and that the mainland reinforcements hadnt arrived, speculation that the celestial ministry were behind the delay with their 'paperwork', and appealed for more mercenaries to be sent out to jaya bluffs to investigate.
obviousely, its gonna push forward more. i just hope the last one has something worthwhile ^^

Maybe that is because they paid for this game? Rumours are that some paid more than 50 bucks for it

The first part was allready gone before i even had the chance to do it. :/
The second part was easy enough and the reward was not worthwhile. What's the whole fuss about Jade Orbs anyways?
I see people using them as a currency even though they're so insanely easy to get...

You paid $50 for the core game, inside the box that you checked out with the clerk, and $50 well spent I would think.
What you didn't pay for, is new quest, you dont pay for special in game and holiday events, you didn't pay for titles, you didn't pay for our summer update last year either. You dont even pay for updates period.
Anet makes NO money at all from us after we purchase the game; they are not obligated to give us any updates at all after they have your money. But they still do, and whether you like the updates, or not, be grateful, or at least dont make jerks out of yourselves by rioting about it. It's absolutely fine if you dont like everything they provide us with, but a curtious, and more mature way to handle that would be to send them a message through their website, instead of acting spoiled and ungrateful here.
